The meeting, which gathered key figures from the cricketing community, resulted in nine significant decisions that will impact players, tournaments, and organizational structure.

1. Player Salaries and Support

One of the major announcements was the provision of monthly salaries for cricketers across provinces. In a bid to support talent at the grassroots level, CAN has decided to offer a monthly salary of 15,000 NRS to two female and three male players from each province, totaling 35 players. This initiative is expected to bolster the financial stability of emerging cricketers. The CAN will allocate the budget, and each province will formalize agreements with the players.

2. Financial Rewards for T20 World Cup Participants

Acknowledging the efforts of those who represented Nepal in the T20 World Cup 2024, CAN has announced substantial financial rewards. Each player and head coach of the national team will receive three lakhs, while the support staff will be granted one lakh and fifty thousand. This recognition highlights the association’s commitment to rewarding excellence and dedication.

3. Nepal Premier League 2024

The eagerly anticipated Nepal Premier League (NPL) will feature eight franchises in its 2024 edition. The league is set to be a significant event in the Nepali cricket calendar, showcasing the growing interest and investment in domestic cricket.

5. Elite Cup Venue

The Elite Cup, another major cricketing event, will be held in Madhesh Province. Matches will be played in Janakpur and Birgunj, starting from the last week of October. This tournament will feature top talent and is expected to draw significant attention from cricket fans.

6. Preparation for ICC U19 Women’s World Cup Asia Qualifier

CAN has scheduled the initial phase of the closed camp for the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup Asia Qualifier in Lamahi, Dang. This preparatory phase is essential for the team’s readiness and success in the upcoming qualifiers.

7. New Selection Committee Formed

A new three-member selection committee has been established, coordinated by Lekh Bahadur (LB) Chhetri, with Yunil Shrestha and Murtuza Hawari serving as members. This committee will play a vital role in identifying and selecting talent for national and provincial teams.

8. Annual General Meeting

The annual general meeting of CAN is set to be held on October 11 and 12 in Pokhara. This meeting will provide an opportunity for members to review the year’s activities, discuss future plans, and make critical decisions for the development of cricket in Nepal.

9. Decision on Aadil Aalam

Regarding Aadil Aalam, who received a clean chit from the court in the match-fixing scandal, CAN will make a final decision based on instructions from the International Cricket Council (ICC). This step ensures that all actions are in compliance with international cricketing standards.
